About Adam Tracy

Upon earning a bachelor's degree in finance from the University of Notre Dame, Adam Tracy completed an MBA and juris doctor at DePaul University in Chicago and was admitted to the Supreme Court of Illinois, US Tax Court, and US District Court for the Northern District of Illinois in 2005. He worked as a commodities trader at BP, PLC while pursuing his degrees and began his career as an attorney at tobacco giant Phillip Morris. There, Adam Tracy was tasked with structuring complex corporate transactions and providing litigation support.

Adam Tracy later served as vice president and chief financial officer at publicly-held Ecology Coatings, Inc., where, in addition to representing the company in financial matters, he prepared SEC filings and conducted due diligence on acquisition targets. From 2008 to 2019, he provided business consultancy services as the sole practitioner of The Tracy Firm, Ltd., in Chicago, Illinois. He now leverages these experiences to provide risk consulting services to companies in high-risk industries such as cryptocurrency, eCommerce, payments and cannabis.

Among other clients, Attorney Tracy has acted as lead counsel and advisor to several top 100 cryptocurrencies and advised a prominent Native American gaming initiative and one of the largest subprime auto lenders in the US. His risk management experience is augmented by his strong relationships with regulators, legal and compliance experts, liquidity providers, and deal-flow brokers.
